Announcing the Sixth Annual Centaurus Academic Support Fund (CASF).
The purpose of the CASF is to directly support academics at Centaurus, providing materials, equipment, student support services, and opportunities that allow us to provide the best possible learning opportunities for students.
The CASF funds a mini-grant program at Centaurus, where representatives from each academic department, administration, and the parent community decide which requests to fund.
Please Help Us to Make Our Goal
With over 1600 students at Centaurus High School, we have set a fundraising goal of $30,000 for the 2022-2023 school year.

Everyone Benifits
Our teachers want to share what they have been able to provide due to your incredible generosity! Some examples of items/experiences purchased are below:
- Ms. Mohrhardt stated “My student's photography has taken such an amazing leap forward with the purchase of good quality DSLR cameras to learn on."
- Dr. Ross reported “We were able to purchase two more full sets of Labquest Minis. These allow students to collect a wide range of scientific data (temperature, motion, force, pH, heart rate, dissolved oxygen, etc.) and interface directly with their school issued Chromebook for graphing and analysis."
- Ms. Magner shared “The Resource Special Education Department was able to purchase flexible seating for the Academic Support Class. With the grant money, we were able to get new standing desks, wobble chairs, and other accessible seating from BCInteriors!”
- Ms. Deming will take IB students to a museum visit this spring.
- Ms. Steensen purchased modeling kits to help students make sense of DNA replication, transcription, translation, and protein structure. Students have said, "It was fun to fold the protein into its 3D shape." and "I understand how the DNA pairs with other DNA based on the shapes of the pieces. It's so much better than memorization!"
- Coach Hampton purchased PLT4M and it “is already having an impact on our weight training classes and athletes. The features the program offers have blended ols school with modern tech, making our space much more practical for today's learner.”
- Ms. Leonesio reported “We bought furniture and supplies for the sensory room and we have launched our school store. Students are participating in a Money Skills class where they earn "dollars" through participation and can make purchases from our class store. Our class store includes fidgets bought from the grant. Students are also currently applying for jobs for a School Store which includes making items to sell to students and staff. Items include jewelry and celebration balloons. Current job openings include cashier, balloon/jewelry maker, deliveries, stocker, etc.”
- Ms. McDermott shared “students in IB Environmental Systems and Societies class were able to measure nitrate levels from various local water sources. They were also able to measure soil moisture content and how that can affect seed germination rates.“
